国産天然はちみつ　 石井町の家庭菜園で作られている百花蜜です。Garden Honeyのはちみつは、巣箱から３ｋｍ四方の里山から集められました。百花蜜は、桜,藤,クローバー,みかんなど1年を通して多様な植物の蜜からできており、花の時期で風味が異なりますので季節ごとのおいしさをお楽しみいただけます。またミツバチの飼料として、砂糖など人工甘味料不使用です。100%の天然はちみつをご賞味ください。 ※はちみつは非加熱です。 ※eco包装とはプラスチックを使わない紙のみの包装です 非加熱はちみつ 天然のはちみつに含まれる有益な栄養分や酵素は高温にとても敏感で失われやすく、加熱処理を行えば栄養分と一緒に自然の風味も損なわれます。 温度と保存に十分気を使い、確実に瓶詰めを行い、巣箱から採れたそのままの状態の温度を超えないように注意を払っています。 非加熱はちみつは結晶します 天然のはちみつですので、はちみつに含まれる糖分の種類や量により結晶しやすいはちみつもあります。寒い季節は結晶しますが、それは天然のはちみつの証であり、品質には問題ありません。 結晶が進んで瓶から取り出しづらい場合は瓶ごと４５度以下で湯煎すれば取り出しやすくなります。 環境に配慮します Garden Honey は、我が子にも自然の大切さを身をもって学んでもらいたいと思い、子育てと並行して家庭菜園と養蜂に取り組んでいます。我が子を含め、子どもたちの将来に関わる環境問題に関心があり、今できることとしてプラスチックの使用を限りなくゼロに近づけ、最小限に抑えるようにしたいと考えています。地元のお客さんには、はちみつの詰め替えをして空き瓶の再利用に協力していただいています。 今は小規模ですが、持続可能でゴミの排出をしないことを目指し着実に成長していきたいと考えています。 ※非加熱はちみつは生ですから1歳未満の乳児には与えないでください。 ※直射日光を避け、常温で保存。蓋はしっかりと閉めてください。 Garden Honey I have always encouraged insects to make a home in our naturally farmed garden, but despite planting lots of flowers the familiar sound of buzzing bees was rarely heard. I started keeping honey bees when my son was born in spring 2017. We didn’t know if they would find enough nectar to produce even one jar of honey, but to my amazement they produced a surplus. There was so much honey, we couldn’t possibly have consumed it all ourselves! So, as my teacher predicted, I became somewhat of a small-scale bee farmer. Is there such a thing as a micro-bee farmer? Garden Honey is growing steadily by the year and I am developing my bee keeping technique to take a more natural direction. Why Garden Honey? Bees are said to travel up to 3km from their hive, so we encourage them to stay within the safety of our garden walls by making sure that there is always something in flower. Plants grown or planted specifically for our honey bees and other pollinators include: lemon, yuzu, orange, flowering cherry, poppy, cornflower, rosemary, lavender, mint, cosmos, camelia, crimson clover, bottle brush, raspberry, blackberry, white clover, buddleia and buckwheat. We promise you won’t taste any daikon or carrot in the honey, but many vegetable plants are also left to go to seed. All vegetables and trees are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides or non-organic fertilisers. 2020 marks our fourth season and we currently have 4 production sized hives in the back garden. Raw Honey Our honey is of the highest quality and our aim is to preserve the delicate flavour, nutrition and enzymes it holds. As we are still very small (micro bee farm) we are able to pack, store and deliver honey in its raw state. Great care is taken to avoid temperatures above those that would naturally occur in the hive. Unless otherwise stated, all our honey is raw. It is only fair that after all their hard work, the bees are left with ample honey for their own consumption. We do not feel it necessary to feed them a sugar supplement. We believe that this approach is better for maintaining the bees health and helps ensure that everything in your jar is honey. Zero waste, no plastic Garden Honey is committed to using non-plastic packaging, recycling and reusing whenever it can. I’m always looking for ways to reuse cardboard and paper to pack and ship our produce and reduce plastic usage. In 2019 I started taking a large honey tank to farmer’s markets to sell honey by weight into customer's containers. Thank you for your support so far. We look forward to meeting you in 2023.
